Motivation

We often think about national security as only consisting of soldiers and guns. However, my studies and other experiences led me to realize that security actually encompasses so much more. In today’s world, one of the most important aspects of security is information. It can be used as a tool of warfare, as well as a tool for protecting the state. Hence, contemporary security would not be possible without hybrid features, such as protection from disinformation and cyber security. This is exactly what led me to choose “Create Lithuania” programme and the cyber security innovation project at the Ministry of Defence, in which I will try to apply my knowledge on security in Lithuania.
